Prayer for September.

He does not delight in the strength of the horse; He takes no pleasure in the legs of a man. The Lord takes pleasure in those who fear Him, in those who hope in His mercy.
 Psalm 147:10-11

FROM THE LORD”S PERSPECTIVE.
In Scripture we are shown the Lord’s perspective through His word. It is wiser to find out His word and His will than to assume what He desires. Why not go into the word also, that you may be assured of what His will is and act accordingly that you may be pleasing to Him? Study His word to show yourself approved of Him, a workman that needs not be ashamed. If you have not done so already, set aside time to study the word of God. It is a most profitable and wise venture.

Surely, there is strength in a horse, and a man is able to do great things also. The strength and the ability of a horse or a man is not the goal or the ultimate; rather, the goal is for a man who fears God as he acknowledges that He is God and Lord! Instead of placing our trust in chariots and horses, or in man, the arm of flesh, we are advised to fear God and hope in His mercy. It is in the Lord that true power resides. Yes, there is much strength in the horse, and in ‘the legs of a man’, but, do not put your trust or hope in these.

All power belongs to God and He directs all affairs from His holy heaven. What He orders in heaven is made manifest on earth, this is the real order! Knowing this, align your thoughts and actions accordingly. It is not by might or power, it is by the Spirit of the Lord that all things are done. So entreat the Lord in heaven for what you require and He will send down power to effect it in Jesus name, amen. As He taught us to pray, ‘Our Father in heaven…’ As You pray, asking His will be done on earth as it is in heaven, He will hear and answer you and make manifest that which you have asked of Him in Jesus name, amen. Do not turn to the left nor to the right, turn to God, the One who hears prayer. Ask, Seek, Knock on heaven’s door. Do not be deceived that there is help in the arm of flesh, or in the strength of a horse.

The Lord is merciful and full of compassion. Do you feel unworthy because of what you have done wrong? Are you accused daily by satan, the accuser of the brethren? Are you reminded continually about your sin, especially when you want to go to the Lord in prayer? Do not stand accused, the Lord is merciful. Go to Him and ask for forgiveness, He will hear your prayer and have mercy on you. As the text teaches us, ‘hope in His mercy’. He takes pleasure in those who trust that He is a loving Father and will have mercy on us, for He knows our frame. Did you ever consider that the Lord can ‘take pleasure’ in a person in need of mercy, one who hopes to receive mercy from Him? Make the change today if required. Do not remain in condemnation and guilt. Step out in hope, hoping in the mercy of the Lord. Come to Him. He loves you and cares for you. It is not His will or desire that any should perish, but that all should come to the knowledge of the saving grace of God. Enter into hope in God, hope in His mercy… and pray!

“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15

“ ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit’, says the Lord of hosts.” Zechariah 4:6b

“Some trust in chariots, and some in horses, but we will remember the name of the Lord our God. They have bowed down and fallen; but we have risen and stand upright.” Psalm 20:7-8

“IF we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9

LET US PRAY
O Lord, show me Your way that I may serve You acceptably according to Your word in Jesus name, amen.

O Lord, let my heart retain the right and God-ordained priorities. Let me not trust in man or things, let my hope be in the Lord alone and always in Jesus name, amen.

O Lord, grant me the grace to study Your word diligently that I may know You more and more. Let me hope in Your mercy and fear You according to Your word. Forgive me all my sin and send down Your power to perfect all that concerns me, my family, my nation in Jesus name, amen.
